Am Blues Scale - A C D D# E G

Once you have learned the pentatonic scale, the blues scale will be quite easy to learn. This Am Blues scale contains one more note than the previous pentatonic scale: (A, C, D, D#, E, G). This D# note is called the flat 5 - or the blue note (when the 5th, D is flattened, you get D# - the flat 5th). The flat 5th is commonly used as an evil sounding tritone in many metal styles (try playing A, D#, A).

The following lessons show you techniques using the pentatonic and blues scales!!!
