Tasty Chord Progressions (D Shape Melody) This video will show you that a lot can be done by using the same open D chord shape and moving it around the neck. This lesson starts with an open D major chord, then the shape moves up to the 9th fret (index finger) for an A major chord, then to the 7th fret (index finger) for a G major chord, and then up to the 14th fret (index finger) for a D major Octave Chord. Try to play the open D string only on the D chords.
